Does My Furnace Need
Repaired or Replaced?
When something goes awry with your heating and cooling system, it’s always good to asses the costs of repair vs. replacement. To make your calculations, start with the age of your current system. On average, a properly installed HVAC system should last between 12-15 years. If you’re more than three quarters of the way through that life expectancy, it’s probably a good time to start preparing to invest in a replacement. If you’re not, ask Luxury Heating Company for both a replacement and repair estimate. If the repair estimate is more than a third of the cost of a replacement, it’s time for a new system. Here are a few more things to consider in your assessment:
Replace If Your Furnace: |
---|

- The Cost of Repair is Greater than 1/3 the Cost to Replace |
- You Experience Hot & Cold Spots or Large Temperature Shifts |
Repair If Your Furnace: |
---|
- Is a Newer System that is Still Under Warranty |
- System Repairs are Infrequent |
